We have conducted a research on sensitivity patterns of nosocomial bacteria on antibiotics in some public health centers in the city of Makassar, with the aim of determining the types of nosocomial bacteria that contaminate the tools in the operating rooms and special units/installations of surgical treatment, and then ascertaining the sensitivity of bacteria to antibiotics used in several public health centers in the city Makassar. Swab samples were taken from three public health centers in the city of Makassar, which put intothe carrier media and then were cultured. Culture results were isolated to determine the types of bacteria and then the bacteria sensitivitieswere tested against the types of antibiotics that are used in those public health centers. The results showed that of the 35 samples tested:12 samples were found contaminated by nosocomial bacteria, 21 samples contaminated by non-pathogenic bacterial and 2 samples are not contaminated. The conclusion of this study is that bacterial pathogen causing nosocomial infections are: Enterobacter agglomerans, Alkaligenes faecalis, Klebciella pneumonia, Enterobacter aerogenes, Asinetobacter calcoaceticus, Staphylococcus epidermidis and there has been a Multi Drug Resistant (MDR) to ampicillin, amoxycillin, tetracycline and trimethoprim in all bacteria that were found, but generally they are still sensitive to ciprofloxacin.
