Nurses who work in hospitals have a higher risk of contracting diseases resulting from their job because the nurses are still often disregard the principle of universal precautions so that potentially large increases the risk of contracting the disease. The solution offered is to apply Risk Reduction Model (RRM) includes several stages that are commonly used to improve the behaviour of contracting the disease prevention include labelling stages, commitment and enactment. The purpose of this research is to know the behaviour of the nurse in disease transmission risk reduction include labelling, commitment and enacment. The type of research used observational descriptively. This research was carried out in Labuang Baji Makassar with the number of respondents as many as 75 people. Research results obtained that there is 60% of nurses not labelling themselves as individuals who are at risk of contracting the disease, 100% nurses don’t have the commitment to do disease transmission precautions and there were 56,7% of nurses had not done a good action in terms of prevention of transmission of disease so that it can be inferred that the nurses still do not have the self awareness will be the magnitude of the risk of transmission of the disease.
