Hospitalization is a situation where the sick are in a hospital environment to get help in the care or treatment so as to overcome or alleviate illness. The family is an important element in treatment, particularly treatment in children.
This study aims to analyze the relationship between family support with the level of anxiety due to hospitalization on preschool children in Room Delima Dr.Harjono Ponorogo hospitals. Types of analytical studies with correlation research design. Popoulasi study of parents and preschool age children who experience anxiety of hospitalization with a sample of 28 respondents are taken with technique Random Sampling. Independent variables were family support, the dependent variable is the anxiety of hospitalization preschoolers. Data taken using a questionnaire and then
analyzed with chi square tests and contingency coefficient tests. From the results of research conducted on 28 respondents who studied obtained as many as 3 people (10.7%) had good family support them as much as 3 children
(10.7%) had mild levels of anxiety, of 23 men (82.1%) having family support is, including as many as 23 children (82.1%) had a level of anxiety is, of two people (7.1%) have less family support, including 2 children (7.1%) had severe anxiety tigkat. The results of statistical tests using the Chi Square values obtained probability (p) = 0.000 with the
Contingency Coefficient = .714. This shows that there is a strong relationship between anxiety levels of family support with hospitalization preschoolers in Room Delima Dr.Harjono Ponorogo Hospital with a parallel direction. Means that family support is one factor that can assist children in dealing with anxiety. This is because family support can improve the instrumental capabilities of children when hospitalization. So that increased capacity will increase children’s ability to deal with anxiety during hospitalization. The advice can be given descriptions of the family support is optimal for hospitalized children / hospitalization, especially preschoolers to speed healing and reduce levels of anxiety.
